It is never easy to write a book, and promoting a book for me is a unique experience. Since I wrote One Nation, One Mission, One Promise I received a lot of wonderful testimonials, and support from people I never met before, telling me how important they felt the message of the book is today, and I think it is a timeless message.

You cannot imagine how grateful I am and how special it is to hear such kind words of support for both the photographic art work and for my original poetry and prose.

ONE NATION, ONE MISSION, ONE PROMISE is about the continuing journey of fulfilling the promises made on July 4, 1776. It celebrates what unites us each and every day, The Charters of Freedom: The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

It is not about hope, it is about celebration. It is not about seeing our world through rose-colored glasses. It is about acknowledging what we have accomplished in spite of the challenges. To say first and foremost, “Look at what we did, look at how great we are, and how we can be even greater.”

The campaign for the next President of these United States is under way. The candidates in their desire to inspire us to vote for them will begin with the rhetoric that usually focuses on division. I am inspired to focus on unity.

So this is a journey, my journey as an American, and your journey. Let us share and celebrate our accomplishments. We always unite during a crisis, but why wait for a crisis? We can unite here, today, right now and share.

How can we give to each other and help each other when there is not a crisis staring us in the face? How can we seek out leaders who will no longer divide, but unite us? Can you for a moment say to yourself what John Lennon wrote about in his beautiful song Imagine?

Imagine all the people
